Position Description:
We are seeking Fire Operations Advisors to serve within Saudi Aramco’s Fire Protection Department (FrPD). Roles will be based at corporate offices or field locations within Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Aramco FrPD provides protection to all personnel, assets and locations associated with the Company within Saudi Arabia. With more than 1800 personnel and 49 fire stations, Saudi Aramco FrPD is a large fire service with a diverse and extensive risk protection portfolio. As senior Fire Service professionals with breadth and depth of field and management experience, Fire Protection Advisors will effect tangible positive and long-term change through provision of technical reviews, expertise and advice to FrPD leadership, and implementation of short- and long-term solutions on issues related to improving fire station readiness and preparedness. Drawing on career-gained experience, Fire Protection Advisors will provide support to Fire Operations Divisions in creation of strategies and solutions that will continuously elevate the effectiveness of fire and rescue performance, competence of fire crews, capabilities of frontline leadership, and deployment/utilization of apparatus, resources and management systems.

Fire Protection Advisors are paramount within Saudi Aramco FrPD, working closely with key stakeholders to deploy subject matter expertise to ensure existence of quality pre-fire plans, value-added employee training and competency development, emergency response plans, fire apparatus/equipment needs assessments and fit for purpose Standard Operating Procedures/Manuals/Internal Guides. As Fire Service role models, incumbents will have the expertise that address emergencies and crisis related to fires, explosions, rescue operations, hazardous materials, fire safety, and strategy and tactics.

During the first 30 days the incumbents will become familiar with FrPD organizational structure, operational responsibilities, key personnel, risk portfolio, department procedures and company policy.

During the first 60-120 days, the incumbents will commence key duties including initial development of short- and long-term strategies and solutions, aimed at elevating emergency response readiness within areas of responsibility.

Minimum Requirements:
Saudi Aramco FrPD seeks candidates with a breadth of fire operations & fire protection experience gained in large, busy and diverse fire services/departments comparable to Saudi Aramco Industrial and Nonindustrial operations.

Ideal candidates will have in excess of 10 years progressive experience operating at Deputy Chief/equivalent in fire services protecting a broad range of the following: municipal, petrochemical, refinery, gas processing, ARFF, marine port, structural, commercial, industrial and residential occupancies.

Candidates should have experience in delivering tangible improvements in fire crews’ overall performance, and a track record of delivering success for the long-term.

Must have a sound working knowledge of fire and hazardous materials operations; fire service hydraulics; industry safety engineering; standards and codes such as National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the American Petroleum Industry (API); rescue operations; maintenance of mobile fire equipment and other fire equipment; hazards in producing; refining and transporting crude oil and petroleum products; and incident command systems.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate deep expertise relating to emergencies and crisis related to fires, explosions, rescue operations and tactics, and investigations.

Extensive knowledge and expertise in fixed and semi-fixed fire protection and fire alarm systems.

Candidates should hold a Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE) recognized, regionally accredited BS degree in Fire Science, Fire Service Administration or Emergency Management.

Fire Officer III/IV, Incident/Fire Department Safety Officer or equivalent are highly desirable.

Completion of U.S National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer Program is a distinct advantage.

Must qualify for a Saudi Arabia Resident Visa and Driver’s License.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)

Highly developed verbal and written interpersonal, communication and English language skills.

Ability to think strategically while keeping sight of the day to day operational issues.

Capable of deploying career-gained skills to a high profile, dynamic world-leading organization.

Demonstrable role model for new generation of Firefighters and Fire Officers.
Successful record in Fire Service Management level jobs.

Previous experience as an expert advisor in fire protection services and/or fire safety.

Track record of successfully driving positive change on a medium-large scale within the Fire Service or closely comparable environment.

Experience in the design, and/or delivery of variety of specialized fire training programs to firefighters, fire officers and fire service leaders.

Duties & Responsibilities:
High level accountabilities of the Fire Protection Advisor will include but are not limited to:

Serve as primary advisor to Area Fire Operations Superintendent (Division Head) on emergency preparedness operations matters, hazardous materials responses, equipment specifications and evaluation, training and maintenance programs, and procedures and policy.

Elevate performance and readiness levels within assigned areas of responsibility.

Drive implementation of FrPD strategic direction in areas of responsibility.

Provide technical reviews, expertise and advice to FrPD leadership, particularly in the areas of hazardous materials in processing areas, emergency response plans and mobilization of resources and equipment.

Develop and communicate high quality pre-fire plans and emergency response plans.

Act in a technical advisory and/or subject matter expert in emergency incidents as required.

Provide consultancy and expert advice relating to development of disaster and emergency planning programs.

Coordinate with Hazardous Materials Coordinator, required Saudi Aramco Departments and other agencies, to ensure standardization of procedures and compliance with statutory regulations and requirements for all matters related to Hazmat Emergency response.

Contribute to setting up and implementing assurance, operational readiness, and compliance systems across all FrPD fire stations.

Review Fire Department and Divisional projects, evaluate fire operation needs, and ensure operational needs and roles are addressed.

Design, plan, supervise and/or conducts a variety of in-house training programs to teach fire crews the latest firefighting methods, fire behavior, equipment operation, rescue procedures, hazardous materials mitigation, incident command, and other related subjects.

Plan and conduct drills and exercises to maintain and evaluate standards of proficiency for both fire officers and firefighters.

Assist or lead in cause determination procedures at fires and other emergencies and recommends preventive or corrective measures.

Development of interventions that lead to full facility familiarization across all levels of fire crews within assigned areas of responsibility.

Drive Optimum levels of physical fitness, training completion and skills competency within areas of responsibility, and visible application of these in the field.

Coach, mentor and develop colleagues at all levels within FrPD.
