Position Description:
Saudi Aramco is seeking an experienced Petrochemicals Specialist to join the Downstream Capital Portfolio Planning Department. The successful candidate will develop business cases to support profitability and growth targets.

Specific functions to be performed include developing pre-feasibility studies for new business opportunities, and generating a Downstream Investment Plan covering the chemicals business for both current and new facilities.

Other areas will include improving the competitiveness of the current asset base by capturing integration opportunities, and developing value creation opportunities.

The successful incumbent will conduct conceptual studies, review facility configuration, and propose alternatives to minimize operating costs or produce higher quality products.

Identify and fully develop Energy Saving opportunities, review and identify synergies between facilities, and conduct process simulations to optimize Petrochemical plant operations.

Minimum Requirements:
As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering.

You will have a minimum of 15 years’ experience in any of the major Chemical Companies, and have strong knowledge and experience in Elastomers, Adhesives and Coatings technologies (or at least two of the three).

This includes different technologies and different product specifications and applications.

Other requirements include experience in using steady-state process modelling packages (ASPEN+ and HYSYS), and the ability to communicate and present outcomes of economic analysis.

Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform process engineering assessments to identify value creation opportunities that align with the company’s strategic objectives.

Successful applicants will provide expert advice and assistance to Saudi Aramco businesses, outside vendors, manufacturers, and design firms on matters relating to your area of expertise.

Design and conduct engineering studies to determine potential problems and remedies to existing problems, resolve complex technical problems, increase revenue, optimize processes, protect the environment, or improve safety.

Evaluate existing facilities to identify operational and revenue gaps, and initiate business proposals to capture value in areas of intermediates, new businesses, and integration between business lines.

Review and introduce best practices and new technologies from all over the world to help the Company achieve Best in Class positions in the chemicals business.

Analyze the capabilities of vendors, and contractors to determine their acceptability to perform major services to Aramco. Perform cost analysis and value engineering studies as appropriate.

Undertake special assignments requiring extensive technical expertise and discretion when dealing with outside organizations.

Provide engineering leadership to others assigned to assist him. Act as a professional mentor to less senior specialists and engineers.

Promote a learning environment and implements self-development to maintain and improve expert status within his engineering specialty.
