Position Description:
Saudi Aramco are seeking an experienced Scheduling Engineer to join our Unconventional Resources Engineering & Project Management Department (UREPMD) team. In this role, the incumbent will provide a complete planning service to the UREPMD team, demonstrating expertise in managing large and complex projects. He will assist UREPMD Project Managers to ensure Contractor's project programmes are prepared, maintained, analysed, monitored and controlled against Contract requirements. He will also be responsible for ensuring the EPC Contractor’s planning procedures and tools are follow as established in the Contract.

UREPMD is responsible for the development and coordination of the capital program for Unconventional Resources within Saudi Aramco in addition to providing engineering support and project management. The program covers current field development in three different parts of Saudi Arabia and is focused on increasing gas production via the development of shale gas and tight gas resources in the Kingdom.

The selected candidate will report to UREPMD Project Control Division Manager. During the first 6 months, the selected candidate will evaluate the planning and scheduling information collected from Project Management Teams or contractors and advises management corrective action for improvement the effectiveness of the Project Control.

He also will be assigned to evaluate schedule, performance, reports submitted by North Arabia Project Contractors in order to see opportunities for improvement and to identify deviations and analyse causes of delay.
In parallel, he will be assigned to develop and establish Monthly Reports, Project Control Procedures, Department Key KPIs, and to develop talent in colleagues working in the UREPMD and exploit their knowledge, expertise and abilities.

The post holder will be in permanent contact with project manager, immediate supervisor and personnel under direct supervision, as well as other UREPMD personnel on scheduling related matters. Frequent contact with division managers, contractor personnel, and personnel from finance, contracting, cost engineering to identify problem areas, define item areas of concern and develop solutions.

Minimum Requirements:
B.S. Engineering Degree

Minimum of 15 years working experience in the similar role in Oil and Gas Industry

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in upstream oil and gas, midstream, LNG, refining and petrochemicals industries, preferably in recognized EPC Contractors

Experience of FEED and EPC projects

Expert with Primavera P6 and spreadsheets, with database capability and knowledgeable in system aspects of Planning / Risk software

Certified by Institute of Building, HNC, HND, — in the areas of planning, scheduling, project administration or similar

Self-motivated, energetic, and tenacious

A pro-active approach to solving problems and getting the job done

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Willing to share information and develop junior staff

Duties & Responsibilities:
Participate in all meeting such program review meetings, progress meetings, coordination meetings, constructability review meeting, etc, and manage all communications regarding project planning activities

Provide efficient and accurate feedback for all processes to PMC Team
Review and verify Contractor’s engineering and procurement planning system, procedures and tools, making sure its alignment and integrity with other tools and contractual requirements

Follow up all program development exercise with EPC contractor’s, including program baseline development. Also, verify the effectiveness of program mitigation plans

Participate in developing Overall progress report also monthly reports
Review and comment on Contractor’s program, Contractors Manpower forecasts, as well as contractor’s submitted reports

Provide program impact analysis and variance analysis

Provide critical paths analysis and address critical issues of the project

Follow-up the equipment / materials delivery as well as engineering work packages issuance

Evaluate the resource plan and progress measurement system established by EPC contractors and participate in progress and monthly invoice evaluation exercise

Participate in change management process and trends analysis also highlight potential problems with recommendations for remedial action

Ensure changes have been incorporated in the project plan / schedule

Development of detailed engineering schedules in conjunction with lead discipline engineers

Development of engineering progress measurement systems and reporting of progress and productivity

Co-ordination of schedule interfaces between licensors' and subcontractors' activities

Provide regular forecasting of project schedule including key milestones

Lead regular schedule review meetings with the project team

Mentoring and development of locally hired Planning team members, where appropriate

Discusses, coordinates and resolves long term and short term planning and scheduling problems with personnel throughout UREPMD and with contractor organizations. Acts as technical consultant when required

Assists in the technical evaluation of contracts relative to their expertise in planning and scheduling and analyses in detail their performance

Evaluates the planning and scheduling information collected from contractors and advises management of exceptions to the plan and potential corrective action and/or impact to the project
