We are seeking a Chemical Engineer to join Hawiyah NGL Recovery Plant (HNGLP) within the Gas Operations.
The engineer primary role is handling process studies and design modifications in utilities, gas treatment, NGL recovery or gas compression facilities. Occasionally called upon to design or evaluate new process installations or modifications.
HNGLP main function is to liquefy rich sweet gases coming from other facilities and produce NGL using propane as cooling media. It has also gas treating units to remove CO2 from the coming gases. It uses combustion gas turbines to compress the residue natural gas to sales gas grid and pumps to ship NGL to the fractionation facilities.
As the successful candidate you should hold a Bachelor’s degree in chemical Engineering from a recognized and approved program.
You must have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in natural gas operations (gas treatment, NGL recovery, rotating equipment and utilities) including good experience in simulation programs mainly Hysys, Flarenet, and ProMax.
You must have have the skills of troubleshooting, root cause analysis, debottlenecking, and process hazard analysis (PHA).
You should have the knowledge of engineering standards and codes.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You are expected to be able to perform the following:
Monitor, analyze & optimize daily process parameters and KPIs.
Provide troubleshooting recommendations for any process abnormalities.
Identify any operations optimization opportunities and recommend solutions.
Develop process related design packages and participate in the review of other discipline packages.
Mentor and develop young engineers.
Write technical reports and present technical studies.
Conduct and review HAZOP and SIL studies.
Develop simulation cases for operating units.
Participate in developing isolation plans, job risk analysis, shutdown and startup procedures.
Assist in engineering analysis, development, design and control of assigned studies.
Work with the plant teams to troubleshoot issues & upsets, and participate in investigations.
Check the plant performance to ensure it is running up to its design as well as optimum profile.
