Position Description:
We are seeking a Corporate Generalist/Trading/Maritime counsel for our Maritime, Sales & Trading Practice Area within the Law Organization of Saudi Aramco.

Law is responsible for providing legal counsel and advisory services to Aramco’s business units, subsidiaries and joint ventures.

This attorney will provide commercially oriented legal advice to wholly-owned subsidiary Aramco Trading Company (ATC), the Middle East’s premier trading company for refined petroleum products, and the largest shipper in the region. ATC is the global integrated platform for Saudi Aramco’s downstream assets, as well as for its international partners, and is a key player in the region supplying Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Americas, Asia, and the Indian subcontinent.

Minimum Requirements:
As the successful candidate you will hold a JD or equivalent from a recognized and approved university, together with admission to general practice before the highest court of the state or country of which you are a citizen.

You will have a minimum of six years of experience in a strong law firm or major corporation.
As counsel to one of the largest trading organizations in the region, this lawyer will provide a broad range of general corporate support including all related commercial transactions, governance, litigation, compliance, risk management, environmental, human resources, and technology.
Trading and/or Maritime experience are not required but considered a strong plus.
Candidates must be currently licensed, admitted to practice, and in good standing in the United States, Canada, or the European Union.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Assists General Counsel, Associate General Counsel and other attorneys in marshalling and examining the law and facts pertinent to legal problems, in preparing legal documents and opinions, and in maintaining liaison with Management and Aramco’s operating organizations.

Prepares and issues opinions and advice to Management with respect to standard corporate rights and obligations, standard contracts and agreements, and common statuary or similar requirements or with respect to areas of functional responsibilities.

Reviews and advises on current legislation, treaties and governmental regulations which pertain to the Company’s operations.

Maintains liaison with outside counsel and prepares statements of fact and law for their consideration and assists in the review and implementation of their opinions.

Participates in activities of professional and technical legal societies.
