We are currently seeking a Senior Corporate Strategy Consultant for our Corporate Planning Organization who will directly impact the Company’s strategy development and update process through the application of best practices in the fields of upstream, downstream, and corporate strategy. The successful candidate will lead the development and annual update of the Company’s Corporate Strategy. Also, and as one of the main functions of the Senior Corporate Strategy Consultant, he or she will provide analytical support and facilitate strategic decision making by executive management.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, business administration, accounting, financial management, or a closely-related specialty. A graduate degree is highly desirable. You must have at least 15 years of experience in business and corporate strategy in a global energy think tank, a major international consulting firm, or a major oil and gas company, of which at least 5 years must have been with strategic or corporate planning. Excellent written and oral English communication skills are a must.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will perform alone, and direct or coordinate the following activities:
Lead the development and update of the Company’s Corporate Strategy in coordination with the other business strategists within Corporate Planning and within the various business and support lines. Generate and propose to executive management strategic options backed up with the appropriate analysis.
Interface, collaborate, and influence a group of strategists and professionals responsible for articulating and crafting business strategies of the Company’s Strategic Plan, which includes challenging strategic analysis and assisting in clarifying objective.
Represent the Company in relevant conferences and seminars. Prepare and present lectures, both inside and outside the Company, on subjects related to Corporate Strategy and Strategic Planning.
Cultivate key matrix relationships and be able to advance corporate strategic thinking to ensure the organization is proactive in adjusting or developing its strategy.
Coordinate with all groups of Strategic Planning and other departments of Corporate Planning to develop the analysis required for the development and update of the Corporate Strategy.
Work in coordination with Strategy Communications to ensure that the content of communication is aligned with the Corporate Strategy.
Design and facilitate a series of executive strategy workshops with both executive and senior management on a regular basis.
Prepare for, facilitate, and follow through on Strategy and Initiative Portfolio Review meetings and teams, including the Annual Strategy Refresh.
Serve as an expert in strategy for the Corporate Planning Department.
Act as the Corporate Advisor for Corporate Strategy and related issues, and provide relevant strategic and process-related insight to the Strategic Planning Department, the Corporate Planning organization, the CEO, and members of Corporate Management.
Inspire and interface directly with a group of strategists and professionals responsible for articulating the overall corporate strategy for the Company.
Build strong relationships with consultancies, industry experts, and best-in-class companies and keeps abreast of key developments in the Strategic Planning space and other arenas that could impact the Company’s competitive performance. This includes developments in the oil and gas industry, technology, risk management, processes, and governance.
Independently initiate research on corporate strategy best practices that might impact the Company’s competitive advantage. Prepare research and special studies and analyses as required for the Corporate Planning organization and various corporate committees.
You must have a solid experience in strategic planning and scenario planning, be capable of quickly building respect of Executive Committee members and senior management, and able to manage and mentor staff.
