We are seeking a Senior Inorganic Analytical Chemist with expertise in geochemical analysis of water and trace metals in hydrocarbon to join the Technical Services Division of our Research & Development Center.
The Technical Services Division is responsible for providing added-value technical support, introducing cost-effective technologies, and conducting advanced analytical characterizations for Saudi Aramco Upstream and Downstream operations as well as the research teams to increase the competitive advantage of the Company, maximize profitability, improve asset integrity, and protect health and the environment.
Your role is to provide analytical support that encompasses the measurement of various inorganic contaminants in various sample’s matrix using UV-Vis, IC, AAS, GFAAS, CV-AAS, ICP-OES, and ICP-MS under ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, develop unconventional analytical methods, mentor young scientists, and interact with proponents to solve out their analytical and operational problems.
As the successful candidate, you will hold a master’s or Ph.D. degree in chemistry from a recognized and approved program.
You will have at least 13 years of experience as an analytical chemist supporting petroleum industry, including at least 5 years in inorganic/water chemistry using bulk, spectroscopic, spectrophotometric and chromatographic techniques.
You should preferably have publication records demonstrating your mastery skills in elemental and trace metals.
Memberships in international committees and technical forums are preferable.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Perform full assessment of water samples typical in the oil and gas industry using spectroscopy techniques on various solid and liquid matrixes of samples.
Develop unconventional analytical methods and seek their accreditation to meet the customers’ needs.
Practice project management tools in setting project objectives detailing experimental scope and managing the requested fund, and build effective teams to enhance the technical and professional skills of junior staff.
