We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Upstream Projects Inspection Division (UPID) of Inspection Department.
The UPID is responsible for providing Project Inspection Services on company capital projects during the various phases of the project from construction, to pre-commissioning until safe startup of the facility based on company established procedures and standards.
The Mechanical Engineer within ID primary role is to lead inspection team during the execution of company capital projects
As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is preferred.
You will have nine (9) years of experience working as mechanical engineer in, Oil/Gas onshore and offshore inspection.
You will have to have relevant experience in inspection of projects during construction and pre-commissioning stages
You must have in-depth knowledge of relevant international codes and standards such as ASME (Sec-V,XI,B31.3,31.4 &31.8 etc..) , API (RP 2A, 1104 etc..), AWS- D 1.1 ,etc
You will be able to demonstrate thorough knowledge of common industry inspection practices in both onshore and offshore projects.
API certifications such as API 510, 653 and 570 are preferred.
CSWIP 3.1/AWS (welding Inspector or equivalent is preferred) and ASNT Level II or equivalent is preferred.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher is preferred.
IRCA or equivalent lead auditor certification is preferred.
You will have the ability to generate engineering reports along with recommendations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Lead multidiscipline teams throughout the various phases of projects from design, procurement, and construction to pre-commissioning as per company established guidelines.
Ability to measure the implementation of quality through Assessments/Audits for the continual improvement.
Poses specialized knowledge in materials, offshore structures construction/fabrication and Inspection. In addition, he is expected to have in-depth knowledge of relevant design standards and codes such as AWS, API-RP-2A, ASME …etc;
Holds hands on-experience in Offshore structures installation/erection Inspection;
Conduct special studies for improving quality and inspection programs in projects utilizing recognized process improvement tools such as Lean Six Sigma;
Provide technical services based on his proven technical knowledge of Mechanical Engineering and excellent exposure to relevant international Mechanical Standards on arising field issues and initiate reports with recommendations;
Coordinate, lead and direct work of other engineers and inspectors within his team and act as mentor and coach whenever required.
Act as the focal point of contact for project reviews and in technical matters related to mechanical engineering field.
Knowledgeable in preparing/reviewing/approving project quality documents such as quality manual, quality plans, procedures and test records etc.
The Engineering & Project Management (E&PM) business line studies, plans and oversees the construction of the Company’s new facilities, including some of the biggest and most complex projects in the petroleum industry. Recently, Saudi Aramco completed the largest capital program in its history that included new or expanded oil, gas and petrochemical facilities, raising maximum sustainable crude oil production capacity to 12 million barrels per day and significantly increasing gas production and processing capacities. Among the recently completed projects was the largest crude oil increment in the history of the industry: Khurais, with a production capacity of 1.2 million barrels per day. More challenges lie ahead, with a slate of new or expanded oil, gas, refining and petrochemical projects in the works. E&PM also manages the Company’s Research & Development Center where scientists investigate topics such as the desulfurization of crude oil, advanced fuel formulations for next generation combustion engines, and reservoir nano-scale robots (Resbots™) for injection into reservoirs to record their properties.
