We are seeking Fire Protection Emergency Readiness Specialists to serve within Saudi Aramco’s Fire Protection Department (FrPD). Roles will be based at corporate offices or field locations within Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Aramco FrPD provides protection to all personnel, assets and locations associated with the Company within Saudi Arabia. With more than 1800 personnel and 49 fire stations, Saudi Aramco FrPD is a large fire service with a diverse and extensive risk protection portfolio. Our Mission is to “Save Lives and Protect Assets.”
Possessing a depth and breadth of Fire Protection experience gained in services comparable to Saudi Aramco FrPD, the Fire Protection Emergency Readiness & QA Specialists will be responsible for driving sustainable and continuous improvement in Saudi Aramco FrPD emergency response preparedness through creating, enhancing and implementing compliance and QA frameworks and associated action plans. In addition, incumbents will audit and assess fire operations readiness across all Saudi Aramco fire stations including station management status, emergency response performance, compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and internal processes, and alignment with FrPD Operational Excellence Frameworks.
Fire Protection Emergency Readiness Specialists are paramount within Saudi Aramco FrPD, working closely with key stakeholders to identify recurring areas of strengths and weaknesses, analyze trends and patterns, develop sustainable solutions, monitor action plans and results, and demonstrably impact the continuous enhancement of FrPD emergency response capabilities.
During the first 30 days incumbents will become familiar with FrPD organizational structure, operational responsibilities, risk portfolio, compliance/assurance frameworks, internal SOPs and processes, and key personnel.
During the first 60 – 120 days incumbents will commence fire protection and emergency preparedness audit and compliance assessments, and make inroads to identifying strategic improvement areas and associated action plans.
Saudi Aramco FrPD seeks candidates with extensive fire operations experience gained in large, busy and diverse fire services/departments comparable to Saudi Aramco Industrial and Nonindustrial operations.
Ideal candidates will have in excess of 10 years progressive experience in fire services protecting a broad range of the following: municipal, petrochemical, refinery, gas processing, ARFF, marine port, structural, commercial, industrial and residential occupancies.
Candidates should have experience in delivering tangible improvements in overall fire service/department performance, and a track record of delivering success over the long-term.
Preference may be given to candidates who possess a Bachelor of Science (BS)/higher, in fire science or a closely related field.
Certifications/qualifications — gained via a recognized international body — in one or more of the following: Fire Investigation, Root Cause Analysis, EFQM Assessor, and Fire Safety — are a distinct advantage.
Must successfully complete all medical requirements for the position.
Must qualify for a Saudi Arabia Resident Visa and Driver’s License.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
Highly developed verbal and written interpersonal, communication and English language skills.
Ability to think strategically whilst keeping sight of the day to day operational issues.
Capable of deploying career-gained skills to a high profile, dynamic world-leading organization.
Demonstrable role model for new generation of Firefighters and Fire Officers.
Developed and/or implemented Quality Assurance, Compliance, and/or Fire Operations Emergency Readiness Assessment programs within the Fire Service.
Track record of successfully driving positive change on a medium-large scale within the Fire Service or closely comparable environment.
Familiarity with related standards, e.g., OSHA, NFPA, etc.
Familiarity with oil and gas, chemical or petrochemical processing operations is highly desirable
Duties & Responsibilities:
Fire Protection Emergency Readiness Specialists High level accountabilities will include:
Set up, implement and enhance fire operations emergency readiness, assurance, and compliance systems across all FrPD fire stations.
Enhance SOPs, internal processes and other frameworks, ensuring fit for purpose applicability to Fire Operations.
Act as an independent assessor on station management and fire operations emergency readiness assessments for assigned FrPD Divisions.
Regularly report to management recurring areas of strengths and weaknesses related to fire operations and emergency preparedness and performance.
Develop rectification plans and work with Area Fire Operations Superintendents and other key stakeholders to implement these effectively.
Monitor progress of rectification and action plans and demonstrate a link to overall improvements in FrPD emergency preparedness.
Ensure alignment between compliance and assessment activities and FrPD Operational Excellence Frameworks.
Contribute to tangible improvements in Incident Scene Management capabilities, Emergency Response Times and other Fire Operations Key Performance Indicators.
Represent FrPD in a manner that befits a highly effective emergency response organization
Contribute to ensuring most effective deployment of fire equipment, apparatus and other resources via implementation of action and rectification plans.
