Position Description:
We are seeking an Investment Principal to join Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures (Corporate Venturing Department). This position is in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures LLC (SAEV) is the corporate venturing subsidiary of Saudi Aramco. Established in 2012 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Saudi Aramco, SAEV’s mission is to invest globally into startup and high-growth companies with technologies of strategic importance to Saudi Aramco and to accelerate their development and their deployment in the Kingdom. SAEV invests worldwide and has global investment teams located in Dhahran, Houston, Aberdeen, and Oslo, and has a growing presence in Asia. SAEV operationally reports to the Corporate Venturing Department (CVD) within Saudi Aramco’s New Business Development (NBD) admin area under the Finance, Strategy, and Development (FSD) business line.

You will be responsible for managing all aspects of individual venture capital investments, including the sourcing, evaluation, and development of investment opportunities. Additional functions include negotiation, deal execution, portfolio management, post-investment business development planning, deployment of portfolio company technology, performance reporting, and exits of deals. You will actively contribute to portfolio company governance, strategy, and performance. You will specialize in investing in one of the following areas: Upstream, Downstream, Renewable Energy, and/or Water Technologies.

Minimum Requirements:
As a successful candidate you will have the following:
A minimum of 20 years of work experience with 10 years working in venture capital.

A bachelor’s degree in any field related to engineering or finance.

A master’s degree in any field related to engineering or a post-graduate qualification in business or finance.

Professional certifications in desired skills areas (e.g., CFA) is an advantage.

A deep knowledge of emerging technology trends in one or more target industry sectors, as well as an extensive knowledge in venture capital markets and hands-on investment experience in venture capital investing and portfolio management.

Experience managing multiple deal teams, strong internal and external networking skills, and value teamwork.

Excellent business acumen and problem solving skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Develop strong and wide networks within the Venture Capital community, Oil & Gas, and the services industry.

Make investment recommendations based on a comprehensive review of the target company’s management team, technology, financials, market potential, company governance, etc., as well as strategic fit with Saudi Aramco.

Heavy involvement in term sheet negotiation.

Develop post-investment business development plans and milestones.
