We are seeking a Career Counselor to join the Competency Mapping Unit (CMU) within the Management and Professional Development Department.
The CMU is responsible for providing advice on competency related issues to present competency mapping overviews to organizations. This unit presents a Competency Mapping Overview and defines skills and skill groups for functional tasks. The work being done will help the candidate in building relationships with business lines and groups, offering exposure and opportunities for direct consultation to management.
The Career Counselor’s primary role is to contribute to the delivery of the corporate human resource development strategy, to meet the needs of the various business lines. You will be more specifically involved in the delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of career and talent development solutions. These solutions include the use of competency frameworks, individual development plans, career development workshops, and one to one coaching sessions. You will be responsible for providing overall assistance, support and information to a range of young and experienced professional employees. The role will involve liaising with company training personnel and management at various levels.
As the successful candidate you will hold a bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, human resources management, business, or related fields from a recognized and approved program.
You will have five years of experience in Training/Personnel functions, including 3-5 years in career development related activities with some supervisory experience.
You need to be self-motivated, as you will have a lot of autonomy to lead and implement the technical competency program in your assigned admin areas following specified guidelines. You should have wide experience in fields of the human resource development function, from conducting training needs analysis to the execution plans, skills set such as consultancy, counseling and coaching, managing meetings, assertiveness, communication, presentation and interpersonal. Must have experience in training work colleagues and internal customers, and project management skills to coordinate and schedule new roll outs effectively and efficiently. Event Management Skills to facilitate and organize corporate forums and process, and design and analysis skills to evaluate current processes and propose optimization accordingly.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Your will be required to perform the following:
Coordinate and evaluate developmental/training and skill assessment processes and monitor program participants, to determine progress and skill acquisition, to ensure optimum development, and adherence to program guidelines.
Assist Company Line organizations in the preparation and refinement of employee competence and development plans specific to employees job requirements, to ensure corporate-wide consistency and uniformity.
Prepare reports, overview analyses, and statistical information on development programs for review by management.
Maintain program and system guides for users.
Conduct research on programs/participants, prepares reports as needed and recommends action as required.
Assist Admin Areas/Departments in identifying job openings for promotable employees without advancement opportunities in current organizations.
Assist in the preparation of presentations on new and existing development programs for management.
Coordinate technical, vendor, and specialty courses; and courses conducted by international companies, and handles contracts administration.
Evaluate Educational Refund Plan applications.
Keep current with worldwide academic and professional state-of-the-art training resources.
Conduct campus visits, meets with participants, professors and school officials as needed.
Collaborate with Line organizations to enhance and modify tools and systems.
