Flow Assurance Engineering Specialist

We seek an experienced Flow Assurance Engineering Specialist who has a proven ability to perform flow assurance studies to join the Process & Controls Systems Department/Upstream Process Engineering Division.
The Upstream Process Engineering Division provides engineering expertise in processing of natural gas and light hydrocarbons, production and stabilization of crude oil, and flow assurance for pipelines.
An ideal candidate will have;
As the successful candidate you will hold a BS in mechanical or chemical engineering (an advanced degree is preferred), with more than 15 years of industry experience out of which at least the last 10 years must be in flow assurance.
You will have extensive expertise in single and multiphase pipeline hydraulic simulation.
You will have extensive expertise in steady-state and transient hydraulic analyses using industry standard software like OLGA, SPS, PIPEPHASE, and PIPESIM.
You will have experienced in online pipeline monitoring systems.
You will have experienced in simulating gas network.
Knowledge of flow assurance issues like hydrates, wax, etc.
You should possess excellent computer skills as well as excellent oral/written presentation skills.
You will have experienced in surge analysis of liquid lines using simulation tools like SPS and designing of surge mitigation are desirable.
CFD simulation experience is an added advantage.
Knowledge of applicable regulations, codes, and standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Act as a flow assurance technical advisor and provide timely operational support to Saudi Aramco’s pipelines, plants, and engineering organizations.
Develop plans for reviewing and incorporating new technologies in Saudi Aramco’s pipeline systems.
Conduct flow assurance studies using software packages like OLGA, PIPESIM, PIPEPHASE, SPS, etc.
Audit and review existing pipeline facilities to identify improvement opportunities, potential problems, and remedies to existing problems.
Deliver presentations to an international audience of experts and publish technical papers.
Mentor junior engineers.
Propose and establish pipeline simulation related standards.
Plan to host special interest group meetings.
Deliver in-house flow assurance training courses.
Work independently and create a positive work environment.
Possess excellent command of spoken and written English.
Demonstrate excellent technical report writing and presentation skills.
The Engineering & Project Management (E&PM) business line studies, plans and oversees the construction of the Company’s new facilities, including some of the biggest and most complex projects in the petroleum industry. Recently, Saudi Aramco completed the largest capital program in its history that included new or expanded oil, gas and petrochemical facilities, raising maximum sustainable crude oil production capacity to 12 million barrels per day and significantly increasing gas production and processing capacities. Among the recently completed projects was the largest crude oil increment in the history of the industry: Khurais, with a production capacity of 1.2 million barrels per day. More challenges lie ahead, with a slate of new or expanded oil, gas, refining and petrochemical projects in the works. E&PM also manages the Company’s Research & Development Center where scientists investigate topics such as the desulfurization of crude oil, advanced fuel formulations for next generation combustion engines, and reservoir nano-scale robots (Resbots™) for injection into reservoirs to record their properties.
