We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to work with the Aviation Department in the Aviation Technical Training & Standards Unit. The company operates a large fleet of aircraft, and maintains airstrips and aviation facilities at a number of locations in Saudi Arabia, in support of company operations. The fleet includes five B737-700s, three Embraer 170s, two King Air 350s, seven AW109 EPs, and 14 AW139 helicopters.
The candidate will be responsible for revising, approving and reviewing all Aviation manuals and procedures to ensure they meet the highest quality standards of FAA, GACA, IATA and IS-BAO regulations and policies or the manufacturers recommended requirements.
As the successful candidate you hold a Bachelor degree in Engineering, English or Journalism.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in the aviation industry working as a Technical Writer.
Thorough knowledge of applicable FAA, GACA, IATA and IS-BAO regulations
Demonstrate a competent knowledge of Aviation policies, procedures and operations.
Good spoken and written English is required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Review and update policies, Aviation Manual Material, existing manual materials, handbooks and brochures. Assists in special projects as assigned by the Supervisor & Aviation Manager.
Assists in maintaining the Inspection Program Unit to ensure timely planning of inspection of aircraft, component, and accessories to be in compliance with the FAA Maintenance Review Board (MRB).
Creates illustrated task cards applicable to aircraft structures, systems, instruments, components, appliances, engines and APU. Coordinates with planning to ensure that the task cards are added to the Maintenance Inspection Program, per Federal Aviation Regulations.
Creates policies and procedures as the request of the Aviation Manager
Assists Operations in creating and revising operational manuals. Proofreads and edits the final copy to ensure correct use of grammar and punctuation throughout the manuals
Coordinates with Engineering and Planning Unit regarding all program changes for which approval of the FAA Administrator must be obtained.
Examines reference procedures to ensure new and revised content is accurate and consistent.
Reviews all existing instructions and manual materials and recommends revision to improve their legibility, so as to reflect the correct use of English and to maintain format consistency.
