We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to work for the Northern Area Technical Support Department (NATSD). The department provides engineering support for the Northern Area Oil Operations with specialized engineering and technical knowledge in the areas of varied disciplines to maximize profitability and meeting highest standards of safety and environment.
You will help in the preparation of engineering design packages for all onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities throughout the Northern Area. The design work requires a thorough knowledge and familiarity with the company and industry standards.
As a successful candidate you should have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
You must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience with at least 7 years in the oil and gas industry.
You must have working knowledge of industry codes, such as NEC, IEC, API etc.
You must be able to use Micro Station, Auto Cad and SPI (Smart Plant Instrumentation – InTools) software for the development of the design packages and drawings.
You should have a good knowledge of the process and equipment of gas-oil separation plants (GOSPs) and water injection facilities.
You should have knowledge of how to interpret and produce technical specifications and drawings related to electrical systems in large oil and gas plants (i.e. Electrical Single Line Diagrams, Electrical Networks, Motor Control Centers etc).
You should be flexible to work in both onshore and offshore facilities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You are required to perform the following:
Develop detailed design packages including drawings, calculations, related material specifications, interaction with vendors for electrical related packages.
Prepare new key electrical design drawings, including single line diagrams, cable schedules, electrical details of new equipment, using Bentley MicroStation for new projects.
Modify existing electrical design drawings using Bentley MicroStation.
Show ability to learn Saudi Aramco iPlant drawing management system for searching of existing project related drawings.
Conduct field survey to gather data and help in formulating a safe, constructible and economically viable solution for the project in hand.
Prepare construction material take-off lists for the materials called in the design drawings.
Evaluate technical submittals for various electrical systems.
Find solutions for various technical problems related to oil and gas electrical systems.
Provide mentoring and transfer technical knowledge and skills to young Saudi engineers, Designers and Draftsmen.
