Community Services is seeking a Mechanical plumbing design engineer to oversee the design and implementation of plumbing engineering systems, ranging from waste disposal systems to water systems, shall handle all aspects of the design process, which can include analyzing the building, performing design calculations, and choosing the appropriate plumbing system and equipment for installation.
The Mechanical plumbing design engineer is likewise tasked with overseeing personnel assigned to the project, and providing training and mentoring to junior engineering staff. As a plumbing engineer, you could also be responsible for performing quality assurance reviews on projects, evaluating all technician drawings, and providing assistance on client requests for information (RFIs), managing and staying within the project's budget.
You may work on projects for use in a wide variety of buildings, such as residential facilities, commercial businesses, and learning institutions.
Candidate must possess BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering as minimum with emphasis on building trade piping engineering.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Must have passed National Licensure or equivalent and possess a current license as Registered Engineer.
Ten (10) year experience from the date of qualification in design and engineering office as mechanical design engineer with five (5) years in a senior position.
Must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
Knowledgeable in mechanical, plumbing and piping design calculation related software.
Shall be well versed in related International Engineering and Construction Codes and Standards including International Plumbing Code, International Fire Code, International Mechanical Code, and Uniform Plumbing Code, SBC- 501 Mechanical works, and other U.S. or European codes.
Professional attitude, pleasant personality and dedicated individual are desired.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform the function as Mechanical Plumbing Design engineer responsible for the production of project’s construction documents related to Piping Design for commercial, institutional, residential and office facilities in accordance with Uniform Plumbing Codes (UPC), SBC- Mechanical 501, applicable building codes and standards.
Knowledge of Saudi Aramco Engineering Std. and Design practice is an added value.
Assess projects, identify design requirements and prepare necessary design calculations using hand calculations and uses computer to run standard programs in order to solve engineering problems as required. Outline design intent, requirements and objectives.
Prepare design packages for mechanical piping systems including preparation of documents, design drawings, scopes of work and technical specifications for piping, pumps, sprinkler systems, subsystems with all associated fixtures and fittings, pipe-work systems for water and drainage pumps.
Experience in HVAC and fire Alarm system and design is a plus.
Provide expert advice and assistance to design, construction, and maintenance engineers and operating personnel on all matters pertaining to the mechanical field.
Resolve Mechanical engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes and standards. Write technical reports and provides solution to complex technical problems.
Determine all required design elements necessary for code compliance. Coordinate development of work scopes and detailed technical specifications.
Lay out plans and detailed drawings for development by draftsmen. Identify standard details and develop new details as required. Coordinates the project development and leads a group of professionals.
Prepare cost estimates and material take-offs for the work as applicable and coordinate with Cost Engineers on the development of capital project estimates.
Support project on-site execution, project proposals and initiate detailed work outlines. Make decisions to support projects and act as technical consultant when required.
