Community Services is seeking an Electrical design engineer develops new electrical systems for various applications. Researches system ideas, conducts surveys to verify field condition and gather information necessary to draw up plans for developing electrical systems schematics, layout (usually using CAD software) and documenting specifications. Prepares procedural reports and provides solutions to technical problems in support of site execution team and maintenance organizations.
Must Possess a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering as a minimum requirement or Higher National Certificate, possess National Licensure or equivalent professional certification.
Fifteen (15) years working experience in the electrical engineering design office of which seven (7) are in a senior position with background in building trade construction and field supervision of various maintenance types of jobs commercial and residential facilities.
Strong background on the application of International Building Codes, NFPA-70 (NEC), SBC-401, IEC coeds and standards. Knowledge of Saudi Aramco Engineering Standard and Design Practice is a plus.
Must be fluent in both written and spoken English and competent to write technical report, business correspondences and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, clients and general public.
Computer literate in Microsoft office and knowledge of ETAP, with thorough knowledge in Power system modeling and analysis, Energy distribution management system.
Must have thorough knowledge of engineering design technical concepts, detail oriented and able to think critically about possible solutions to complex problems may it be in the design development and or construction phase of various projects.
Must be able to handle multiple projects with aggressive schedule and complex problems, with time management skills to work within tight deadlines and finish projects on time.
Must be able to interpret electrical schematics drawing and must be able to use all standard test and inspection equipment. Professional attitude, pleasant personality and dedicated individual is desired.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assess projects, identify design requirements and prepare necessary design calculations using hand calculations and computer to run standard programs (such as ETAP) in order to solve engineering problems as required.
Prepares design packages for residential, commercial building trade and community facilities electrical systems, including preparation of design drawings, scopes of work and technical specifications.
Provides expert advice and assistance to design, construction, and maintenance engineers and operating personnel on all matters pertaining to the residential, commercial building trade and community facilities electrical systems.
Outlines design intent, requirements and objectives. Coordinates the project development and leads a group of professionals.
Selects system type, components and determines minimum illumination and placement of visual devises.
Identifies electrical system interface required with other building systems such as Fire Alarm /Fire Protection, HVAC, mechanical space heating and Communication systems
Writes technical reports and provides solution to complex technical problems.
Determine all required design elements necessary for code compliance. Coordinate development of work scopes and detailed technical specifications. Responsible for the production of project’s construction documents
Layout plans and detailed drawings for development by draftsmen. Identify standard details and develop new details as required.
Prepare cost estimates and material take-offs for the work as applicable and coordinate with Cost Engineers on the development of capital project estimates.
Support project on-site execution, project proposals and initiate detailed work outlines. Conduct site inspection to support projects, facilities’ maintenance and act as technical consultant when required.
