Position Description:
We are seeking a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Administrator to join the Research Support Division (RSD) of our Research and Development Center (R&DC).

RSD is responsible for providing the necessary support to enable various research organizations within R&DC to conduct their research work safely, securely, and efficiently. The LIMS represents a critical component to all laboratory activities within the center. Samples and their respective laboratory analysis data are managed within the LIMS, enabling a smooth workflow and guaranteeing the safeguard of valuable and often costly results.

Your main role is to maintain the LIMS, including patching, upgrading and troubleshooting. New functionality should also be promoted and rolled out as it becomes available. System customization should be developed using the latest tools supported by the current LIMS.

In addition to technical skills, interacting with various users and having a proactive attitude in understanding business requirements and promptly responding to such requirements is paramount.

Minimum Requirements:
As the successful candidate, you will have a BSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or IT, or alternatively 5 years of maintaining, upgrading, and customizing Sample Manager©.

You must have 5 years of experience in software development on the .Net platform with C#.

Advanced knowledge of SQL.

Intermediate knowledge required to manage Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle and SQL Server.

Previous experience in managing a LIMS, preferably Sample Manager. Alternatively, the candidate should have managed a multitier system involving presentation, application, business, and data access layers.

Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:

Maintain and upgrade the system, including all the components from presentation to database layers.
Implement and deploy new functionality.
Respond to new business requirements through an active engagement with the customers.
Troubleshoot the system and ensure a 24x7 system availability.
Plan and interact with various IT organization in preparation for upgrades
Cooperate with Information Security Analysts to ensure the security and integrity of the system.
Mentor less experienced team members in the management of the system.
