We are seeking a Hydrocarbon Gas Chromatography Specialist to join the Technical Services Division of our Research & Development Center.
The Technical Services Division is responsible for providing added-value technical support, introducing cost-effective technologies, and conducting advanced analytical characterizations for Saudi Aramco upstream and downstream operations, as well as the research teams to increase the competitive advantage of the Company, maximize profitability, improve asset integrity, and protect health and the environment.
Your primary role is to participate in the chromatography lab in support of the gas and petroleum hydrocarbon characterization team, develop analytical methods, mentor young scientists, and interact with proponents to solve their analytical and operational challenges through the available resources.
As the successful candidate, you will hold a master’s degree in Petroleum or Analytical Chemistry from a recognized program. A doctorate is preferred.
You will have a minimum of 5 years of industrial and hands-on experience in separation science related to petroleum samples, fuels, and products. Knowledge of gas chromatography applied to gas analysis and refined products is expected. Prior experience in hyphenated instrumentation is a plus.
Publication records demonstrating your chromatography skills applied to the petroleum industry are an added value.
You should have experience in quality management programs such ISO/IEC 17025.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Perform advanced testing using gas chromatography techniques to characterize various oil and gas industrial samples in compliance with international standards where available.
Develop new analytical methods for non-routine requests to meet internal customers’ needs and carry out investigative studies in support of Saudi Aramco field and plant operations.
Conduct a basic level of instrument maintenance and troubleshooting to sustain laboratory functionality.
Practice project management tools in setting work objectives, detailing experimental scope, and timely execution of the projects.
Training of technicians and junior scientists in gas chromatography operation and applications.
