We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer (Piping) to join our Project Management team (PMT). Saudi Aramco Project Management Teams are responsible and accountable for the delivery of best in class capital projects assigned to department. PMT is directly involved in executing and managing assigned projects safely, on schedule, within budget and to the highest standards of integrity and compliance. This will involve engineering design, procurement and construction of various sizes ($), types and complexity of small, medium to multi-billion dollar mega projects. Some of these mega projects include the Marjan Increment Program, the Crude Oil to Chemicals program, the Gas Compression Program, the Berri & Zuluf Increment and AMIRAL Program.
Project Management Department manage and execute projects usually from multiple site offices or engineering contractor design offices, geographically scattered throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Engineering Design & Construction phase experience.
Professionally Registered Engineer.
As the successful candidate, you will hold a bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized university; a higher degree is preferred.
You will have ten or more years of more years of experience in Piping Engineering with at least 5 years in designs and involvement with Piping Stress Analysis preferably in the oil industry or similar process industry.
Fully conversant with Piping Stress Analysis Software's such as CAESAR II, NozzlePro, etc.
Full knowledge with ASME Codes applicable to Piping systems and Pressure Vessels. Familiar with hydraulic calculations for piping system and related engineering software's.
Full knowledge of engineering development process and typical Piping Engineering deliverables such as piping isometrics, piping line classes, line designation tables, specialty items, material selection diagrams, and so on.
Knowledge of 3D design tools, Intergraph PDS and SmartPlant3D. Conversant with Intergraph PDS or SmartPlant3D and understand how to manage projects using these systems.
Knowledge and experience in evaluating material take offs (MTOs), cost estimates and reviewing change orders.
Able to work at project site office and willing to stay at project construction site camp (single status basis).
Provides leadership & mentorship to a team of junior piping/mechanical designers and engineers.
Knowledge in planning, progress monitoring, forecasting and reporting.
Computer skills e.g. Spreadsheet, Graphs, presentation.
Effective communication and organizational skills.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Reports to a Project Manager (or Sr. Project Engineer) and involves in; front end, detailed engineering and construction phases of a project such as the development of scope definition, establishment of piping classifications, defining piping-related deliverables with man-hour estimates, etc.
Able to review project contractor (& GES+: General Engineering Services Contractor) piping related engineering and construction deliverables.
Monitor and control the Piping Engineering and Design schedules, budgets and progress in line with the established project policies and procedures.
Define and review the piping related scope of work.
Review Piping Engineering and Design requirements & optimization. Establish and/or review the Piping Engineering and Design criteria on projects and being capable of challenging poor quality of Design Basis.
Able to review and participate in layout, plot plans, equipment layout/orientation reviews & studies, aboveground and underground piping.
Able to review and participate in technical bid analysis (TBA) of piping items.
Assisting in the expediting of vendor data and drawings of piping items as required. This may also include skids and modules.
The Engineering & Project Management (E&PM) business line studies, plans and oversees the construction of the Company’s new facilities, including some of the biggest and most complex projects in the petroleum industry. Recently, Saudi Aramco completed the largest capital program in its history that included new or expanded oil, gas and petrochemical facilities, raising maximum sustainable crude oil production capacity to 12 million barrels per day and significantly increasing gas production and processing capacities. Among the recently completed projects was the largest crude oil increment in the history of the industry: Khurais, with a production capacity of 1.2 million barrels per day. More challenges lie ahead, with a slate of new or expanded oil, gas, refining and petrochemical projects in the works. E&PM also manages the Company’s Research & Development Center where scientists investigate topics such as the desulfurization of crude oil, advanced fuel formulations for next generation combustion engines, and reservoir nano-scale robots (Resbots™) for injection into reservoirs to record their properties.
