Position Description:
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to work with Norther Ghawar Engineering Division (NGED) under North Ghawar Producing Department (NGPD). You will work within NGPD/NGED Electrical Group Technical Support and Project Coordination Units.

NGPD produces oil and gas in a safe and reliable manner utilizing the latest technologies while maintaining a motivated workforce. Electrical Distribution Systems plays a major role for NGPD to safely run its facilities and meet its oil and gas production targets in addition to other operational requirements.

You will work with instrumentation and control system engineers, operation engineers, maintenance engineers, Reliability Unit engineers, contract engineers and other disciplines as deemed necessary to enhance and resolve electrical discipline activities within the organization. Additionally, you will be required to participate in the organization and company initiatives including safety programs, innovation programs, operational excellence, knowledge sharing, self-development and other programs as required.

Minimum Requirements:
As a successful candidate, you should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, MS is preferred. A Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Chartered Engineer (C. Eng.) license or registration is desirable.

You must have a minimum of 10 years relative experience with electrical distribution systems, including working experience with ETAP software program.

You must have working experience with medium voltage (13.8 KV and 4.16 KV) in addition to 480V AC motors including troubleshooting motors failure.

You should have a working Knowledge with UPS and DC chargers including troubleshooting and obsolete units’ replacement.

You must also have experience with electrical substation equipment including Power and distribution transformers, 13.2 KV, 4.16 KV and 480V Switchgears and Motor Control Centers.

You should have strong experience with electrical substation designs including buildings sizing within international code requirements in addition to equipment sizing based on load requirements.

Advanced design experience of medium and 480 V AC motor schematics in addition to elementary and wiring diagram is desirable.

You should have working experience with building medium voltage and 480 V AC one-line diagrams including electrical relay protection and other electrical protection devices.

You should have a thorough knowledge of NEC and similar international codes for Electrical distribution systems.

Duties & Responsibilities:
You are expected to be able to perform the following:

Troubleshoot failed equipment and serve on investigation committees to issue plant & equipment trip & failure reports.

Coordinate and approve failed electrical equipment replacement temporary & permanent.

Prepare engineering design packages involving minor equipment replacement that could be achieved in house, such as replacing or installing transformers, load relocation, distribution panels, replacing or upgrading MCC cubicles, or adding electrical features to a switchgear section

Evaluate vendor offer to insure technical performance (Motors, transformers, Panels, etc…).

Evaluate new technologies to improve maintenance practices and coordinate with maintenance to troubleshoot and repair failed equipment.

Coordinate energizing/de-energizing equipment and work with our Power department to improve system protection

Perform project submittals design review and provide comments to insure compliance with standards for various stages of a project.
