Position Description:
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Sea Water Engineering Division (SWED)/Technical Support Unit (TSU), under the Sea Water Injection Department (SWID).

SWED provides high level of engineering services and technical support for the associated 8 Water Treatment and Injection Plants (WIPS)’ Operations and Maintenance with specialized engineering and technical knowledge in the areas of varied disciplines in order to treat, transport & inject seawater with the highest standards of safety and environment to support and sustain the oil and gas production.

Minimum Requirements:
As a successful candidate, you should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

You must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the field of electrical engineering, preferably in the oil, gas, power systems, or similar process industry.

You must have wide experience and of been exposed to projects, electrical design, maintenance, electrical inspection and asset integrity studies.

You must be able to use ETAP software (Electrical Transient and Analysis Program) to perform required power system studies such as load flow, short circuit, motor starting, Arc Flash, solve typical system design problems, and analyze existing systems.

You must have hands on experience working with Un-interruptible Power Supply Systems (UPS) and DC systems, power transformers, induction & Synchronous Motors, Emergency diesel generators, Switchgears and MCCs.

You must have the knowledge of substations equipment and electrical distribution systems along with maintenance and operation expertise.

You must have a comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in electrical installation, investigation, troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, and reliability issues in the field of power systems and electrical equipment.

You should be familiar with HV & LV power system concerns and mitigation studies with good exposure to equipment installation practices, site construction concerns and mitigation.

You must have full knowledge and familiar with industry codes, international standards and practices such as NEMA, NFPA, NEC, IEEE and IEC, in addition to calculation methods and design details.

You must have the knowledge of electrical equipment sizing calculations and selection of equipment based on applicable and local standards.

You must have an in-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles and the ability to reflect them in engineering projects from conceptual to detailed engineering phase.

Duties & Responsibilities:
You are expected to be able to perform the following:

Prepare basic electrical design packages and specify materials to add new equipment or modify existing systems.

Develop and/or review operating and switching procedures for electrical equipment.

Provide technical support to plant maintenance personnel including troubleshooting and forensic analysis of electrical faults, review and resolve day-to-day activities.

Initiate or conduct special electrical studies for improving the department facilities’ power systems; provide specialized technical service in electrical engineering fields; design and coordinate or direct work of other engineers.

Handle and commission the department capital and field projects, such as new substations, switchgear, MCC equipment installation or existing plant upgrade.

Provide technical support during the design and construction of the projects.

Develop continuous improvement solutions for electrical challenges.

Review Engineering design packages related to electrical aspects.

Share electrical engineering knowledge and experience and train less experienced engineers.
