Position Description:
We are seeking a Public Relations Consultant to join the Business Communications Planning Division of the Corporate Communication Department.

You will work as an integral member of the Business Communications Planning Division (BCPD), within the Corporate Communications Department. BCPD works with the Company’s business and service units and affiliates to develop communications strategies and corporate messaging that can inform the creation of corporate content campaigns. BCPD gathers and analyzes digital online data – and other data on the Company’s reputation and brand - to understand the impact of the Company’s corporate communications activities and initiatives. The insight derived from the intelligence is leveraged to improve decision-making and optimize communications. In this role you will serve as a communications subject matter expert and practitioner with responsibility for development of communications and engagement strategies aligned to corporate and business-line objectives, events, and activities. You will also serve as resident expert in message development, stakeholder analysis, and channels selection. You will be responsible for identifying and developing effective, collaborative working relationships with key functional partners in Public Affairs, Law, Investor Relations, Executive Speechwriting, and various other key business and service units within the corporate structure. You should have demonstrated ability to write concisely with clarity within established messaging guidelines and possess proven skills to absorb and synthesize technical and business topics with expertise to translate into division communications products that can be leveraged into traditional/digital media platforms or serve as central reference point to support events or exhibit design and development.

Minimum Requirements:
As the successful candidate you will:

Hold a bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Public Relations.

Have 15+ years of experience in Public Relations, Communications, or other related field. Preference given to energy or chemicals sector experience.

Be an expert English-writing skills.

Have superlative analytical and deductive reasoning skills.

Have a strong business acumen and familiarity.

Have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Have a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft applications (i.e., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:

Ability to work independently and initiate actions to advance the capabilities of the Corporate

Communications function to support the evolving and dynamic business environment.

Collaborate with internal, affiliated partners or external stakeholders to capture effective and content-rich messaging and narratives and integrate into communications strategies/plans.

Employ and interpret stakeholder data and insights to prompt or influence stakeholders to desired behaviors, enhanced levels of awareness, or produce other measurable and definitive outcomes.

Develop and present strategies to executive and functional leadership.

Independently problem-solve, overcome challenges, and take action to facilitate development and delivery of BCPD communications products while supporting a wide variety of corporate and business-line actions.

Independently conduct required research to develop key insights and support the development of communications strategies, messaging, and other products.

Work horizontally and vertically within the organizational matrix and build productive and reciprocal long-term relationships.

Produce graphics (e.g., tables, charts, etc.) or other illustrative, supporting content for use in presentation format (PowerPoint).

Understanding of statistical inferences to support trend-based analysis.

Serve in back-up capacity for other team members, as necessary.
