Saudi Aramco’s Power Systems Department provides engineering, operation and investment services for the company’s downstream and upstream operations and plants.
Power Systems Planning is seeking a Capital Planner, with skills and competencies to support the evaluation and development of business cases for capital projects sponsored by Power Systems.
The candidate will develop long term master plans to address potential new installations, upgrades, expansions, replacements, retrofits, or demolitions of Power Systems assets in different operating areas of the company. Economic analysis and thorough evaluation of different project alternatives is a key competency, to recommend best investment decisions with maximum attainable Net Present Value (NPV).
As the successful candidate you will have:
A bachelor degree in electrical engineering (a master degree is desirable).
At least ten years of experience in multinational business in the power sector.
A strong background in capital planning for power infrastructure projects ranging from generation, transmission or distribution, either with the utility or the end-users.
Professional experience with computerized power system analysis tools such as ETAP.
An excellent command of English language, both verbal and written.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Capital planning of projects.
Interface with utility area to initiate agreements on bulk power supply and cogeneration interconnection for projects.
Evaluate utility prepared bulk power supply plans and cogeneration interconnection plans to make sure that the plans meet company requirements.
Interface with various corporate organizations such as Facilities Planning, Project Management and Law to review and finalize bulk power supply and cogeneration interconnection agreements for company projects.
Develop long-term master plans to address new installations, upgrades, expansions, replacements, retrofits and/or demolitions of Power Systems assets in different operating areas.
Conduct techno-economics analysis and thoroughly evaluate different project alternatives to recommend best investment decisions with maximum attainable Net Present Value.
Scrutinize technical studies to align with project proposal procedures. Such studies include equipment reliability, condition assessment, obsolescence, standard compliance, etc.
Interface with various corporate organizations such as Facilities Planning and Corporate Finance.
Mentor, develop and provide expertise guidance for less-experienced workforce.
