Saudi Aramco is seeking an experienced professional to provide leadership and expertise to promote quality management and Operational Excellence (OE) within the Research & Development Center (R&DC). The candidate will provide designs and solutions for process improvements to achieve Company goals and leading performance in reliability, efficiency, cost and profitability, and health, safety and environment (HSE) protection. He or she will lead and provide OE awareness, training, knowledge and best practices. The incumbent will resolve OE implementation problems, assesses OE performance, and identify process improvement opportunities.
The incumbent will lead professional teams to implement best practices of excellence and leverage those practices across the department. The incumbent will provide guidance and support to implement and improve OE solutions across operating and service divisions with consideration to linkages and complexities among them. In addition to in-depth knowledge of OE, the incumbent should have working knowledge of ISO standards, safety management systems (SMS) and environmental management systems (EMS) to effectively engage in integrated OE assessments. The incumbent should be capable of working independently in areas of expertise, as well as providing work direction to other OE employees and teams.
The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Operational Excellence, science, engineering, business, or safety and environmental Sciences from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree will be a plus.
The candidate will have 10 years or more of work experience in OE or a similar work environment. Must have fundamental technical knowledge and expertise in developing, implementing, and coordinating comprehensive management systems such as EFQM or BQA, and broad technical knowledge of ISO Standards (9001, 14001, 17025, or 45001), SMS and EMS. Must have Saudi Aramco OE Assessor training and certification or have equivalent international certification. Total Quality Management (TQM) certification and Lean/Six Sigma Certification is strongly desired. A record of presentations or publications on OE and management systems at local, regional, or international conferences or journals is highly desired. The candidate will have the ability to work with all levels in an organization and the ability to work with and direct highly diverse technical teams.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The candidate will be required to perform the following:
Engage with the OE system and processes internal and external benchmarking to identify OE performance improvement opportunities.
Work with senior leadership to develop plans and initiatives to promote and sustain targeted OE performance.
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to manage OE systems, OE model improvements, OE standards, procedures, processes, regulations, practices and knowledge sharing across the department to achieve and sustain high OE performance.
Communicate and present at the department and business line level OE strategies, directions, risks, opportunities, updates, and revisions to OE documents.
Lead, prepare and schedule OE assessments; develop and implement OE assessment plans; report findings, lessons learned and best practices learned; and instill them across the department.
Monitor OE implementation and identify OE performance gaps for focus areas and processes, and resolve overlapping and conflicting issues in OE processes.
Analyze OE performance using corporate methodology and statistical tools, like Lean Six Sigma, to identify and prioritize OE implementation risks and gaps; establish and follow-up on mitigation measures to minimize risks and gaps.
Monitor department OE performance using tools and dashboards to track process KPI performance against targets and closure of areas for improvement.
Report on OE performance to management and other entities involved in OE performance monitoring.
Engage with management, process champions, and process owners in performance dialogues aimed to improve organizational performance.
Participate and contribute to local and global OE events and professional societies.
Own and manage assigned OE processes.
Mentor and coach OE team members and assessment teams as part of the development of OE subject matter expertise, and contribute to the development and delivery of OE training.
